Eight years experience teaching nutrition at the university level; five years experience counseling diabetics as a Diabetic Outpatient Educator; ten years experience as a consultant nutrition counselor.
Nutrition Counseling Profile
- Adjunct Assistant Professor - Brown University, Providence, RI (1989-1997).
- Taught Principles of Nutrition course to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Counseled students on an individual basis on diet planning.
- Diabetes Outpatient Educator - RI Diabetes Foundation (1998-2001).
- As the nutritionist on a team consisting of a nurse, pharmacist and nutritionist I counseled individuals with diabetes who were not insured or who were underinsured on healthy nutrition to control diabetes.
- Conducted small group sessions to educate people with diabetes about the disease and how to control it through diet and healthy lifestyle.
- Participated in a state-wide education project sponsored by the RI Diabetes Foundation called "Put the Move On Diabetes" to educate senior citizens about Diabetes. Using senior centers as the venue we conducted workshops about Diabetes that also included a screening to test for sugar levels.

- Counsel individuals on a fee for service basis on healthy living through good nutritional practices.
